Zaključak

Na testu smo imali G.Skillov memorijski kit iz njihove nove Ares serije optimizirane za Intelove X79 i Z68 platforme. Memorija je deklarirana za rad na 2133 MHz uz latencije 11-11-11-30, 2T i 1.6V. Testiranje i overclocking smo obavili na Asusovoj P9X79 matičnoj ploči i Intelovom i7-3820 procesoru. Maksimum koji smo uspjeli izvući iz ove memorije bio je 2440MHz pri CL11, 1.73V. Maksimalno stabilna frekvencija bila je odličnih 2400MHz, a na 2133MHz uz tvornički napon smo uspjeli stegnuti latencije na CL10, 1T, u odnosu na CL11, 2T koji dolaze s XMP profilom. Memorija je prilikom testiranja bila mlaka na dodir što znači da hladnjaci svoj posao odrađuju korektno, a budući da su niskog profila neće smetati kod korištenja većih hladnjaka za procesore. Cijena po kojoj možete kupiti ovu memoriju je oko 1000kn (s PDV-om) što je ujedno najjeftiniji četverokanalni memorijski kit deklariran na 2133 MHz. U odnosu na najjeftiniji četverokanalni kit, potrebno je dodati oko 300kn više, što Arese čini odličnim izborom za sve koji su željni viših brzina.

Conclusion

We have tested G.Skill’s new Ares memory kit that is optimized for Intel’s X79 and Z68 platforms. Memory is declared at 2133 MHz with 11-11-11-30, 2T at 1.6V. Testing and overclocking was done on Asus’s P9X79 motherboard, and on Intel i7-3820 processor. The maximum frequency we could achieve was 2440MHz at CL11, 1.73V. However, the maximum stable frequency was at excellent 2400MHz. We managed to get 2133MHz at the tighter latencies – CL10, 1T in relation to the CL11, 2T that comes programmed in the XMP profiles. During the testing, Ares’s heatspreaders were slightly warm, which means that the heatspreaders are doing a good job, and since they are low profile, there won’t be any interference with the usage of large CPU heatsinks. Ares are priced at ~130€ (including VAT) which is the cheapest 2133MHz quad-channel memory kit here in Croatia. In relation to the cheapest quad-channel kit, you’ll have to add about 40€ more, which makes Ares a great choice for all who wants higher speed memory at a reasonable price.
