Conclusion

Both OCZ PSUs we had pleasure of testing during this article showed adequate
performance in regards to their technical specifications. Cheaper ModXStream
Pro 500W is a great solution if you are looking for a good modular PSU to power
a gaming PC with one high-end graphics card. We were especially impressed by
the low noise of its 140mm fan which was very silent even when PSU was under
maximum load. 700W model from Fatal1ty Series is a bit different beastie. It
can deliver about 40% more juice than its smaller sibling, it looks much better
and it has very long fixed cables. Unfortunately, it also has a slightly higher
price in comparison to other PSU with similar specs, namely Corsair TX750 or
PC Power & Cooling Silencer 750W. Price aside, our main concern regarding
this PSU is the low number of PCIe connectors – just two. This issue forced
us to use molex to PCIe adapters during the testing because we just didn’t have
enough "native" PCIe connectors to power up our two Radeons HD 2900
XT cards. Considering this, we can recommend Fatal1ty Series 700W only to users
who don’t require more than two PCIe connectors in their system, but at the
same time need a powerful and visually attractive PSU.
