3DMark Time Spy svrstava Asusov novi laptop u gornji segment, a pola puta između modela opremljenih s RTX-icama 3060 i 3080. To je vrlo impresivno za uređaj s ekranom od 14 inča. Rezultati testa Port Royal su nešto skromniji budući da je on fokusiran na ray tracing u kojem AMD-ova arhitektura kaska za Nvidijinom.

Performanse u igrama su odlične, na razini modela G15 koji je opremljen s Radeonom RX 6800M i SCAR-om s RTX-icom 3080. Vrlo impresivno za ovako malen laptop. Također treba primijetiti vrlo dobre performanse pri nativnoj razlučivosti ekrana. Ipak, u ovom slučaju je preporučljivo pomoći si korištenjem Fidelity FX Super Resolutiona – tehnologije koja omogućava kartici interno renderiranje na nižoj razlučivosti, a koja je dostupna u sve većem broju naslova.

Kapacitet od 76 Wh pristojan je za gabarite uređaja, a u praksi osigurava autonomiju od oko 6 i pol sati pri reprodukciji video zapisa pri svjetlini ekrana podešenoj na 200 nita. Koristili smo Asusov energetski profil Optimized. To nije baš vrhunsko vrijeme autonomije, no da se popraviti korištenjem Silent profila koji je zapravo i prikladniji za korištenje laptopa bez vanjskog napajanja.
Veći je problem što uređaj iz nekog razloga ima problema s odlaskom u Sleep mod. Iako bi sklapanje ekrana trebalo računalo prebaciti u Sleep, to se redovito ne bi dešavalo i baterija bi “iscurila”, a da toga nismo bili svjesni ili bi računalo ostalo aktivno dok je napajanje bilo priključeno. Koliko vidimo po dostupnim recenzijama G402-ke na Internetu, čini se da je problematičan samo naš primjerak uređaja.
Zagrijavanje, buka i taktovi
Visoke performanse u kompaktnoj šasiji imaju i svoju negativnu stranu, a to je zahtjevnost hlađenja. Usprkos svim tehnikama i štosevima koje su Asusovi inženjeri primijenili pri konstrukciji laptopa, buka koju rashladni sustav generira na Turbo profilu je vrlo visoka – oko 53 dBA.
Ako ste u igrama spremni prihvatiti 15-ak posto niže performanse, moguće je koristiti i profil Performance kod kojeg buka pada na znatno ugodnijih 47 dBA. To nije loša strategija za uživanje u naslovima koji nisu toliko zahtjevni. U suprotnom je rješenje imati tolerantne ukućane i dobre slušalice, idealno s tehnologijom aktivnog suzbijanja pozadinske buke.
Kad je riječ o zagrijavanju, s profilom Turbo nemam problema – WASD područje kreće se oko 37 stupnjeva. Kada se odabere profil Performance, temperatura ponešto raste i dostiže 41 do 42 stupnja, na rubnom dijelu gornje strane baze što nije idealno.
