PCMark priča poznatu priču, procesori s nižim taktom dobiju manje bodova, no čim smo ga overclockirali situacija se promijenila i 1700 je uhvatio overclockirani 1800X.

Overclockingom u oba 3DMark testa gubitnika pretvaramo u dobitnika. Loši grafički rezultati na referentnom taktu će se vidjeti i na sljedećoj stranici, a na zadnjoj pak stranici ćemo vidjeti kako se sve može poboljšati overclockingom i bržom memorijom.

U prvom testu 1700 ni ne zaostaje previše za 1700X, barem ne onoliko koliko je sporiji u taktu (300 MHz). Samo da bude jasno – kada je svih 16 threadova zaposleno takt 1700X je 3.5 GHz na svim jezgrama, a 1700 pri tome radi na 3.2 GHz na svim jezgrama.

Cinebench je jaka strana Zen arhiotekture i to i 1700 pokazuje jer je rezultatom iznad 5960X procesora.

U Handbrakeu se desio određeni pad u sličicama po sekundi, a u minutama to znači kako za isti posao koji 1700X odradi u 37 minuta i 27 sekundi, 1700-ki treba 39 minuta i 55 sekundi – ne puno više. Za isti posao 1800X-ici treba 35 minuta i 26 sekudi.

U wPrime testu ponovno pada u poretku iza 5960X, no i dalje ostvaruje vrlo respektabilan rezultat – ispred 4960X-a je koji ima osnovnu frekvenciju od 3.6 GHz.

U ovom je testu pad performansi nešto veći nego što smo viđali u prethodnim benchmarcima pa se 1700 ovdje druži s šest jezgrenim Intelovim Haswell-E procesorima uz izuzetak 5960X-a koji je također podbacio.
