PCMark 10 mjeri općenite performanse sistema i ovaj graf kao i neke ostale tek trebamo popuniti s drugim procesorima kako bi se dobila šira slika. 3970X je na vrhu poretka, no razlika u performansama nije drastična pa je zapravo svejedno koji od ova tri procesora koristimo u svakodnevnom radu s aplikacijama koje ne mogu iskoristiti sve dostupne threadove. 3970X nije procesor za gejmanje, te iz “izvukao” nešto manje performanse iz grafičke kartice u TimeSpy testu. Kako se ponaša u igrama, moći će te vidjet na sljedećoj stranici.

3970X je kralj kompresije i dekompresije podataka i to je zorno vidljivo u ovom grafu, ništa drugo mu nije ni blizu. Ipak, stariji su Threadripperi testirani na starijim verzijama Windowsa koji nisu imali dobre schedulere threadova pa su i performanse u ovom testu bile niže (u ostalim testovima nismo primijetili da to čini veću razliku, samo u 7 Zipu). Direktna usporedba vrijedi s 3950X od kojega ima duplo više jezgri, a rezultat to i pokazuje.

U Blenderu prvi put vidimo koliko je 3970X generacijski brži od 2990X procesora (38%), te koliko će ubrzati rad u 3D animaciji.

Corona Renderer je fotorealistični renderer dostupan za Autodeskov 3ds Max ili kao standalone CLI aplikacija. Razvija se i verzija za Maxon Cinemu 4D. Dostupan je i benchmark koji automatski renderira scenu i izbacuje rezultat u sekundama, te u Rays/sec.

Rezultat je ponovno odličan i pokazuje lijep generacijski skok u odnosu na 2990WX (38%), za što je zaslužan viši takt i duplo više L3 memorije.

Handbrake skalira do 32 threada pa ne može potpunosti iskoristiti svu prednost 3970X procesora, no čini se da je 128 MB L3 memorije zaslužno za brži rad od 3950X.

JetStream 2 je browser benchmark kojji se fokusira na web aplikacije, koji kombinira JavaScript i Web Assembly benchmarke koji pokrivaju različite napredne poslove i tehnike programiranja te izbacuje rezultat na temelju toga. Veći broj znači bolje performanse, a ovdje čini se nije toliko bitan broj jezgri koliko frekvencija prema redosljedu koji smo mi ostvarili.

Puget Systems je američka tvrtka iz Seattlea koja se bavi gradnjom računala. U svom radu koriste nekoliko benchmarka kojima ocjenjuju brzinu radnih stanica pa tako i ovaj Adobe After Effects u verziji 0.52 BETA. Rezultati su kao što vidimo izjednačeni za 3900X i 3970X pa je očito da se AE ne koristi svim dostupnim jezgrama.

Adobe Premiere Pro se s druge strane koristi svim raspoloživim jezgrama i prednost daje dvama Threadripperima. Novi je 3970X kao što vidimo ostvario lijepu prednost.

V-Ray Benchmark je proizvod ChaosGroup-a koji je stand-alone aplikacija za mjerenje performansi procesora i grafike u renderiranju. Dostupan je za 3ds Max, Mayu, Cinemu 4D, Blender, SketchUp itd.

V-Ray rezultat je ponovno odličan, a generacijski je skok oko 30% što je malo manje nego u prijašnjim testovima.
