Potrošnja sistema s RX 470 je dvadesetak W niža nego kod RX 480, što pokazuje kako je potonja ipak malo učinkovitija, tj. donosi bolji odnos performansi po wattu potrošnje. S druge strane pak, R9 380X troši jednako pa je i to dokaz bolje učinkovitosti RX 470, no ipak je to i dalje premala razlika ako se gleda 28 vs. 14 nm. S vremenom i poliranjem 14 nm procesa će vjerojatno i ti čipovi biti još učinkovitiji.

Referentni je hladnjak rak rana RX 480, a isto tako i RX470. Ipak, maksimalna zabilježena temperatura je dosta niža nego kod 480, što je i logično. No, to nažalost ipak ne znači kako GPU ne throtla s porastom temperature.
